So far in this class I have put in a lot off effort to make the best art I can. My biggest success was my face drawing probably because I thought it was really good.  What surprised me was probably they way you make the pinch pot creatures in how you put two bowls together to make a head. My favorite project was the pinch pot creatures because it was really fun to make. The new skill I learned from this was adding on clay to the clay to make it more realistic and to add features. The new art element I learned from this was 3d art making. What these did to my finished project was add detail and make it look better. I hope to use my new art skills in the future by drawing graphs and other pictures or sculpting something. In the future I might take more art classes at MSHS.

This is my final glazed cup. This cup  is called a soft slab cup and is about as tall as 1 and a half fists. It's smooth on the outside with some clay features sticking out. I learned how to make a soft slab cup using a paper cup and clay.  The art element I learned was shaping clay. This cup gives off a warm feeling.

This is my finally spooky tree drawing. This was done by first drawing the outline and then drawing in the sky. After that you draw in the back trees. After that I drew in the mid ground. And to finish it off you draw in the for ground. This picture gives off a gloomy feeling.

This my clay box. It's kinda small about as big as a notecard. On this box I used the colors red and blue. In addition this box has a lot of bumpy surfaces. Adding on, to make this box I used slip and scoring to connect two 45 degree angles together to make a 90 degree wall.  The art element I learned was making walls to make a box. This box gives off a calming feeling.

This is my very first ipad drawing. This was the very first time I used the sketch book on the iPad. In this drawing I learned how to layer the colors. In addition I learned how to use the different utensils.

This is my pinch-pot creature. This is about the size of my fist and is a circle. I used this kind of yellow color to get the skin tone. The creature is suppose to be an elf and the skill I learned was putting two pinch pots together to make a small creature. This creature gives off a joyful feeling.
Grade/comment

I can create a clay project of uniform thickness; with sculptural details that are also of uniform thickness so it will dry, handle, and fire without breaking.
5
I can slip and score and securely attach clay to clay so that it stays attached.
5
I can create a unified sculptural form with a details of interest on all sides and the top of the project.
5
I can design in three dimensions by using three dimensional details (not linear ones)  these 3D forms will create designs with  shadows and highlights.
5
I can design and create a unified form where the surface design and all sculptural details will enhance the whole by reflecting or contrasting with the form.

during the past week we hAve done clay projects. So far we have learned how to do the pinch pot by putting our thumb in a ball of clay and then turning it. In addition we learned how to build a cup by putting clay around a cup and then taking out the cup and forming the clay like a cup. In addition we just did a cup and learned how to make 45 degree angles on the clay slaps to make 90 degree walls.

This is my box witch I just made. This was easy to do and understand. Something I learned was how to put walls up using 45 degree angles to make them 90 degree angles.
